There was never anything on and I am busy throughout the week to watch it. But sometimes late at night and on the weekends I miss it. $40 a month? Yay or ney

If you could do without... do it. I personally could'nt get by without it.

$40 a month? Shit, I pay over $90 a month for digital cable. More if I order pay per view. I wish it was just $40. But you obviously have internet, so thats a plus. I hardly watch my tvs, ever, though. I leave them on all the time, but I don't really pay attention to whats on. Right now Back to Future III is on in the room, but I'm not watching it. I think I spend more time on internet, myself.

Leaving TV's on wastes a lot of electricity. I'm assuming you don't mind the higher utility bills since you're paying $90+/month for TV that you don't really watch.

My Satellite bill was just under $100/month PLUS the PPV which added up. I just switched to cable TV and I pay $100/month for all 3 services ... TV/Phone/internet. I save about $100/month for all three and I switched from DSL to a cable modem.

I pawned my tv to become more time efficient and stop wasting brain cells on reality tv, soap operas, mindless gameshows and political crap. Now I post on EF which is equally wasteful but perhaps still less braindead. Once in a blue moon this place produces a thread worth reading. Usually when I´m in it.

I still watch the news bulletins on livestream online and buy DVDs. There´s a weekly docu I watch on livestream too.

I didn't pawn the crap but should. I don't have TV and hardly watch movies anymore, life is better since. I do the same with the internet for the news. There is one problem though, now I seem to waste a lot of time on a damn internet board. It's a crazy place, somehow it just sucked me in. Damn EF anyway!

I hate EF. i try to leave and keep coming back.

I hardly watch it yet pay for digital cable. Sometimes its nice. I have it set up so that my laptop is a media center watching and recording tv though I never do it. Sometimes I have the TV on the screen while Im surfing the net or doing work on the computer, other times in the background.
Having the option is necessary for me though

I recently switched from Cable to Satellite, however it's been 2 months and I still have my cable. I'm considering cancelling my satellite and just receive the cable for free because they are no longer charging me for it despite having it.

You will not have all the channels. You'll only have analog and not digital because #1 you don't have a digital cable box, do you?

I had analog the whole time. To be honest I don't see any difference between analog and digital. I think digital on a huge screen tv looks crappy unless it's in high-def.

You won't get the actual channels on analog only. Some channels only come in digital. Do you get all the channels?

Where's Jenscat? lol

i get all the channels I typically watch.

and isn't digital automatically converted to analog by the convertor fairy they have at the cable company?

She is downstairs mopping the floor.

With a HD TV, you can get all local chanels in HD from an antenna. I did that before getting cable.

No cable, no satellite, no terrestrial, never watch any TV unless someone has it on at their house. Read the papers and BBC news online and watch DVD's in bed sometimes but rarely manage to keep my eyes open through the whole movie.

Television...drug of the nation.
