Who drinks raw eggs?

I am getting so fed up from cooking eggs in the morning that now I just drink 6 whites and whole egg now in a big jug in addition to my oat meal and yogurt. Is this ok to do, since some eggs may contain salmonella? I think the acidophilus in the yogurt is supposed to neutralize some harmful bacteria like salmonella, but one can never be too sure. Any opinions on this? Who else drinks eggs?

I drink raw eggs in protein shakes and have done for years, I doubt you'll have too many problems especially w/ the acidophilus. Salmonella problems are only marginal, and as long as the eggs are kept in a cool place you should be fine. But, again, the use of the raw eggs is up to you.

I'm a big fan of throwing eggs in a protein shake as well.
Easy extra calories, and I don't have to clean a frying pan. :)

Ya know, they do taste kinda nasty alone, maybe I'll start mixing them with....TUNA!!! j/k :p

Actually, TUNA and eggs (when mixed) seemed to taste pretty good to me.

I was hit down after mentioning I used raw eggs (Eggology) in shakes at night--- someone wrote that the egg in raw state doesn't allow the protein to digest fully. Now, I know for a fact that no protein digests fully-- and being a proponent of digestive enzymes, I have come the closest to having everything digest properly. Glad to see that others share in this raw egg interest.

I drank raw eggs for breakfast for months. A couple times though I couldn't stop shitting for a day or two. Narrowed it down to the raw eggs since I haven't had any problems since I stopped.

Whoever told you that eggs don't digest fully if they are raw is clueless, for no protein digests fully so I can actually claim that for anything.

True that. Enzymes in your stomach are designed to breakdown proteins, regardless of whether they are cooked or not. Though it is true that raw white may not be fully digested, when cooked, some of the Vitamin-B and amino acids are destroyed by heat. So it is really a matter of preference what you want to do with your eggs. I personally just don't have time to sit and eat all the time, so I add them to shakes.
