Who can close a COC #1 or COC #2?

I have closed the trainer with both right and left hands (im a righty)
approx bodyweight = 345 lbs

Okay, so 100lbs isn't all that hard for an average male lifter? (I've never used any heavy grippers before.)

i dont know about avg male lifters. im an exceptional female who no longer lifts.

which ones have you closed? I dont know the poundage associated with each one.

i took a #2, and flushed it with both hands

I've never used any heavy grippers. I was considering getting a couple, but wasn't sure what to start with. Since apparently only one person has ever closed the #4, there seems to be pretty big leaps between #1, 2, and 3.

Start with our Trainer, which is much tougher than sporting goods store grippers, and work your way up. The No. 1 will stop most guys who lift weights; the No. 2 is rarely closed the first time it is tried; the No. 3 represents a world-class crushing grip; and the No. 4 has still been closed by only one man. When you close our No. 3 or No. 4 Captains of Crush gripper under authenticated conditions, you will be certified and added to the Ironmind list.

So perhaps the "No. 1 will stop most guys who lift weights" part is a bit overstated?

No. 1 @ 140 lb.
No. 2 @ 195 lb.
No. 3 @ 280 lb.
No. 4 @ 365 lb.

Guide @ 60 lb.
Sport @ 80 lb.
Trainer @ 100 lb.

i dont know if it's overstated - perhaps it's true? you should ask bfold.
have you tried any of them? I didnt know they had a Sport and Guido version.

Yeah, the non-numbered ones are new, I think.

Is Bfold still around? I think I remember reading about either him or Scottsman or someone closing a #2 or 3.

you remember polishhammer? he's on the list for having closed the #3. So are other dudes from IT (RyanBrown for one). I didnt see bfold's name on there though which is surprising.

looks like they have recently added .5 sizes too. so now there's 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 as well

#1 about 2 years ago. Search the archives, I used to do grip and forearm work on Saturdays a long time ago. SO much fuggin fun.

Ah, yeah. I remember PH.

I didn't know they had half sizes... EFS must not carry them.

I never heard of half sizes.

And PH is the fucking MAN. Almost as much as lord suston.

I've closed a the T, 1, 2, 3, HG250 and 300, and a PDA 280. I used a set for the grippers close to the 3. That being said it took about a month for me to get the 2 closed and I'm not sure how long to get the 3. I'd imagine it'd be much faster if I trained for it but I'd just pick a gripper up every couple weeks and give it a squeeze.

Quite a few people have closed the 4. www.gripboard.com if you're more interested in a real grip program.

so start with a number one? I may order one of these today...

i recently started deadlifting again and my grip is for shit. . .think i'll get me a couple of those. . .

probably ought to lose the straps when i'm doing pull-ups and dumbell rows too. . .

I could easily close the #1 the first time I tried. Two took a little work and I have the three to within half an inch of closing now. Bodyweight between 280-300.

Cheers,.
