I think this poll would be better suited to say "would excessive use of ibpro inhibit gains"

...but maybe that's just me.

In moderation, i don't think it'd kill you or do anything you'd notice to inhibit growth. using 2400mg a day is a different story... i don't know what would happen and I don't plan on finding out.

If you're using it day in and day out... you should probably find the source of your pain and remedy that rather than covering it up.

All NSAIDS are counterproductive to muscle recovery. Several studies have documented this.

Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is not an NSAID and is a better choice, but it is harder on the liver.

At what dose and what period of time?

Links to studies would be appreciated if you have time :)

There has been numerous posts on here adressing this situation. But like mike said I'm sure if used in moderation it won't cause any problems. Maybe I can locate one of those studies.

If you're on a cycle you could take 2 grams of ibuprofen a day and still make gains. In theory on paper NSAIDS inhibit muscle gains, and if you're taking hi doses every day, not eating, and not on cycle, you might start to lose muscle mass. But all this crap about NSAIDS being poison to bodybuilders is garbage. It's also a way for sources to push their "pain meds".

search my username, and look for my ibrupofen thread....someone posted the link to the study. I stay away from ibuprofen, but then again i take vicodine when im in pain (which is prob worse, but not worse on gains)

so im iffy on this one.....do i take ibu, yes i would, all the time? no way, like sgt said if i needed it all the time i would find why i need it first.

So if you are taking it because of an injury/hard workout then i think you should be fine....but abusing it is where the problem starts

of topic a bit but..
I saw on the news a while back that log term ibuprofen consumptin can nicrese the risk of a heart attack by 52% :worried:
