While on a cycle do you take time off?

I would like to get some view from people here in regards to time off from the gym while on a cycle – My routine for the past two years has been – Monday – Saturday (workout) Sunday (OFF w/ 1 hour of stretching). I will do this for 4 weeks then take one week off doing nothing but stretching and cardio for an hour a day. Then start the routine over changing up which body parts I work though out the week. I feel like this has provided me w/ maximum recovery time for my whole body on my weeks off.

While on a cycle, would anyone recommend this type of “time off”? Share your time off or comment
 
i mean if this has been working and what you are used to, why not stick with it?

I agree w/ you, but I was wondering if most reduce the off time since they are on a cycle. I dont know about you, but when I am cycling I feel like I need to be pushing weight all the time. Just a mental thing.....
 
I train hard 4 days a week, so I don't need to take days off.
 
Mon-Thurs to Failure,Some Cardio on Friday,Rest Sat & Sun.Well Not the kind of rest that i would like,I have More Projects going on i have to shooo some off with a stick!

It really depends on your body type.

-Ecomorphs should go about 4 days a week and lift heavy 3sets of 6-8 roughly for each excersize with 2min rest in between. Diets should include more carbs.

-Mesomorphs should workout about 5 days a week 3sets 8-10 with 1-1.5mins rest inbetween. Diets should include many equal carbs and protien and 30% fat

-Enodomorphs should go 6 days a week with sets at 3 and reps around 10-12 with .5-1min rest in between. More protien and good fat with endos.

This is just a general workout program you really just have to find out what works for you.

Every year take a week or two off also.
