I want to get stronger so i am thinking of experimenting with powerlifting. Is this more beneficial for strenght and can it enhance my bodybuilding goals? I know Arnold was a champion bodybuilder. I want to have a good bodybuilder's phsique, but i also want to be very strong as well. Can powerlifting be usefull?

ummmm,,, not flaming but think about the question... If you are training for strength that would obviously make you stronger.

I like to take the approach of power bodybuilding... getting stronger while trying to maintain some kind of proportions

I've done both. Powerlifting is a totally differnent game.

Low reps, highest weight possible and you'll need a full time good training partner for all those forced reps.

powerlifting obviously makes you stronger, it is hard to maintain great strength once you get into the single digits of bf in my opinion

"Powerlifting is all about strength while bodybuilding is about appearance."

ditto.

Power-bodybuilding focused around the squat, bench and deadlift is the best of both worlds.

So true... I always hover around 10-12%... but when I dip down I feel like absolute shit and everyone tells me I look great. I would rather feel good and look like shit most of the time...lol:D

Lift heavy on basic exercises and maintain a reasonable bodyfat, and you should accomplish your goals.
