These six training methods are from the sticky up top, Sorry if this poll has been done before. I am switching to 5x5 immediately from my own basic n00bie mass routine.

I did 5x5 for about 2 months. I am now doing HST. And, yeah, this poll was done recently, maybe 5 or 6 weeks ago?

Currently using a slightly modified version of the WSB Basic 9 Week program. I'm having a great time.
...chad...

For what its worth, I've been using the 5x5 for years with a lot of success. But this year I plan on switching between opposite routines, like 5x5 and DC, every few months to see if that shocks some growth

I have found great results moving between DC and 5x5. I am planning to do this evert 3 to 4 months. As you say, opposite routines with regard to volume, frequency, failure etc. but both advocate constant weight progression which I think is the key to progress with any form of training.

Also, due to the gradual build up of intensity that both offer, I use this as a form of periodisation...

I would say I like west side, but throw in some periodized power training blocks (similar to phelps power plan above) for some variety.. Also I try to keep things more athletically applicable and so use some other excersizes like cleans, push press, etc

I have stolen bits and pieces from other training styles over the years and have tailored it to suit me the best. Though I continually look for ways to improve what I am doing.

Cheers,

presently I'm going more with the "starving myself to death" approach....

I'm sorry. Not too much longer for you though!

8 weeks seems like such a long time....it just figures that my wife is a few months pregnant and eating everything in sight, that doesnt help my willpower much...and I only got away with calling her "fattie" out of frustration once...

:eek2:

I'm surpised you got away with that once. My wife would have literally killed me for that when she was pregnant.

i didnt really get away with it, but it was the only time that I said it. Now I amuse myself but referring to her friends as fatties

Brute brought this thread back to life, so I'll hit it.

I use the Estorga's Instinctively Progressive, Intuitively descending, Old School 5x5 partialated repetitive alternating Swaining/Craining Metal-side West-militia HyperSuperStrength specific, generally eclectic power program.

Can I get an acronym for that?
