If you look at bands like Marduk, Emperor, Burzum and Cradle of Filth, then yes they are all on that dark side. If you are familiar w/ the Black Metal European scene you should know these bands. Back in the early 90's Emperor was involved with some of the church burnings. If you read the Black Metal book which came out late 90's about all sorts of demonic bands, it will tell u from interviews with the group of them explaining so. First off, Satanism has nothing to do with "worshipping the devil". Satanism is " believing in yourself" and that you are your own God. No, I'm not a satanist but I read alot on subjects like these and listen to many kinds of music. Bands like "Cradle of Filth, are more into the whole witchcraft vampire stuff. Slayer has been around since like 1981 and back then bands did anything for shock value. Look at Motley Crue, Ozzy, Alice Cooper. Those people do not worship Satan and do it all for the music and image. Now, Deicide I know for sure are anti-christians and are satanists. As far as Marilyn Manson, the guy is a genius. He has so many interesting points for the things he says and does. The reason he is still around selling records is cuz his image changes on each album and he is bringing more diff. crowds of people towards him. I love his music and have been a fan since 1993 when he was called "The Spooky Kids" opening up for NIN. Whoever said he was a Reverened at the church of Satan and married Rose is a fucking liar. Rose and Manson never got married and he's not a reverened of any satanic church. He met w/ anton Levey ( Reverened of the church of Satan) before he died and they just chatted about things and he inspired Manson on many things. Manson and rose have been broken up for a long time and he has been dating Dita which is a hot fetish model . All the shit and rumors people hear about him are childish and have nothing to do with him. The whole Wonder Years phase, killing animals, urinating or cumming on the audience is all lies. I been goin to his shows from all over the U.S. since 93 and have witnessed it. At Ozzfest last year someone threw a cup at him and he pissed in it and launched it at em which was funny. As far as shocking if u call it that, he has ripped up the mormon bible, cut himself, and has spit at the audience and got them to spit back but that was yrs. ago. He has not done the whole cutting or spitting thing since the 96-97 Antichrist-Superstar tour. I'm sure if alot of people here sat and read his lyrics and knew who he really was, they would change they're negative thoughts about him. I'm a fan of all music including rap such as DMX, Wu Tang,Eminem and many others, but I love Metal mostly. Bands like Manson, Ozzy, Pantera, and System of a down just move me and thats what music is all about, Masterpiece
