I have been working out for about 6 months. I used to workout like 2 years ago but then stopped. So im kind of a newbie at lifting .Now i am wondering if i could get some advice to which routine is better for gaining mass and getting pretty built.

The routine i am doing on all my workouts is:

3 sets of 10 at a decent weight. Then i jump it up 20lbs and do a set of 6reps, then with no rest i drop it 10lbs and due another set of 6 reps, and then drop it 10lbs again and do another set of 6reps so i am at the same weight i did my 3 sets of 10 reps at.

I do this 3 times a week(m-w-f) and work lower body the other days. Now is that a good workout and is it good to do all of my upper body exercises each one of those days or is it better for me to do a routine like this:

day 1: back and biceps
day 2: chest and triceps
day 3: shoulders and lower back
day 4: lower body

Which routine would be better for me?

Also is it better to up the weight each set or to do it how im doing it and do 3 sets at the same weight and then doing a heavy set.

Any help would be great and sorry if i made it confusing.

Take a look at this routine which is very popular on here as a good general mass and strength builder.

Here's the main thread and table of contents:

and here's the single-factor/novice version:

Even if you don't like the program, there's a lot of good reading in there which might contradict a lot of what you're used to seeing in the BB magazines. If you have any questions, post up in the main thread since a lot of people check there.
