whey or milk protein

skinnyfat

New member
Are these proteins (powder) considered to be dairy? They come from milk, but they are only the protein--no milkfat or lactose. I mean, if one is eliminating dairy, does that mean most protein powders are out, too?

Protein powders are in no way considered dairy. That's why many people choose to drink them because they are able to be mixed without actual milk. Water would do just great, no bloating, no lactose.

If you're lactose intolerant then an isolate is the best way to go. It still has a tiny amount of lactose but such a small amount that it shouldn't cause any problems, unlike a concentrate.
