I started sipping a protien shake during my workouts. I consider it my "pre/during" shake, because I start drinking it ~15 minutes before I start lifting. The composition is 50% of what I take in PWO, so it's 1 scoop of protien, 20g malto, and 20g dextrose.
This may not be the optimal shake, but I have noticed a drastic decrease in fatigue levels. I am no longer fighting to get through the workout, and generally have a higher level of energy throughout the workout.
