Whey during exercise?

I started sipping a protien shake during my workouts. I consider it my "pre/during" shake, because I start drinking it ~15 minutes before I start lifting. The composition is 50% of what I take in PWO, so it's 1 scoop of protien, 20g malto, and 20g dextrose.

This may not be the optimal shake, but I have noticed a drastic decrease in fatigue levels. I am no longer fighting to get through the workout, and generally have a higher level of energy throughout the workout.
 
Currently:

  • 5 caps of PURECEE pre workout.

    30-40g WPI + 20-30 grams of a simple carb (usuall a tiny scoop out of some weight ganiners I have) + L-Glutamine + H20 : All in a 22 oz shaker bottle

    Sip it all through my 45 min(ish) lifting workout, along with my gallon of H20 I bring for thirst so I don't chug my protein.

I've gotten great results so far with this procedure.
