G GaryWary New member Jan 21, 2002 #2 5HTP is better tryptophan converts to 5hydroxytryptophan (5HTP). 5HTP converts to tryptamine (serotonin). 5HTP is therefore the better supplement. Tryptophan was wrongly banned... look up contamination, showa denko, prozac conspiracy and tryptophan on google..
