If your biggest gripe is juice you have no idea what the fuck is going on in this world. I have been to fourteen countries in my ten years active, EACH of them had some pretty cool shit going on but ALL of them had some pretty big issues. The reason it is this way is because people like "us", have no representation in Washington, PERIOD. It will never happen because it is political sucide to stand up for the rights of people like "us". The general public will never understand steroids and thier purpose for us. English people are the same, always bitching about England doesn't allow X,Y,and Z, and English people are always doing A, B, and C wrong. Yea I'll tell you when I first got in the military I wasn't old enough to drink and the Air Force is strict as hell about it. Everyone and I mean everyone thinks it should be otherwise but they cant allow us to break the law I guess. What I am trying to convey is a sense of proportionality, while you are bitching about teeny tiny problems that mean the world to you I'm trying to say step out side the box for a minute and see how GOOD you do have it.

I have quite a few Vietnam vet friends that were screwed when they came home, screwed by the ungrateful citizens as well as the government. I too have close comrades, who I served with last year, that are now recovering from serious combat injuries (a guy in my squad actually) so don't play that shit with me. I'm still astonished at how well people treated my company after we returned. Free suppers, drinks, etc. I think to most people it is a fad and they cannot correlate returning vets to the vets of Vietnam. Same job and same guys, different time and different place. As far as living conditions go (ie: hardships), it sucks that the military doesn't get more credit/compensation than we do but that's the name of the game. We all knew going in what we were going to get paid and what kind of dirt (or sand) we were going to be sleeping in. Money shouldn't be the reason people join the military, pride and honor should be; in Canada or the US.

Almost every European country is better than us in terms of freedom, healthcare, tolerance, academics, crime.

So maybe you should compare apples to apples, instead of apples to oranges

In other words you should be comparing the US to other WESTERN countries.

When you do that, you will see that we are very far behind in many areas.

People think that America is as good as it gets, but thats not true.

Granted in the "free world" you don't get your hands chopped off. As stated though there are certain advantages to living in the US that many people don't see (at least I see them as advantages, other's could argue...). The list is literally endless and as vast as the ocean but to touch on a few points look at the medical system in Canada. I have three friends that live between Newfie and Ontario, each of them swears by their statements, "The Canadian medical system is inundated with idiots going to the hospital for a sniffle, making legit medical cases wait for days to be seen..."

It should also be noted that in Europe the government owns most if not ALL of the major media outlets and when it comes time for campaigning (issues or offices) the legislators use TAXPAYER money to push their own agendas. I won't even get into the private firearm ownership thing. Drugs, sure the vast majority of the EU is very liberal about drug use (research "Needle Park" in Switzerland) but letting everyone run free and do what they want isn't the right answer. It's hard to talk about drugs here and not sound like a hypocrite so I won't.

Income taxes are outrageous in places like Sweden! 52.3% Imagine keeping LESS THAN HALF of what you earned?

Everyone here knows the laws on steroids are stupid. As far as the athletes go it is stupid that they can go to jail for steroid use, but that is just like everyone else. If the NFL says no steroids, then I don't see a problem with a player being booted for using them, but that is a private sector. The general public should not be banned. If baseball doesn't want the players using then that is their call, but a bb who is doing his own thing shouldn't be told he can't use. I think it would be a good idea for it to be mandated that steroids can only be used under a doctors supervision because a lot of dumbasses would fuck themselves up otherwise, but I guess that is their own fault if they did. The US does restrict us too much on certain things that should be our own right to choose and I don't see any politicians standing up for that especially on the steroid perspective, at least not successfully if at all.

The laws are set up to protect the ones in power. and killer clown you do have some good points but in regards so do all the others. Its as simple as this until the people that use steriods are represented in Washington nothings going to change because as a whole we are not the ones in power. The law on the books are the laws on the books. If I decide to use a substance that is deemed illegal to possess, then I should be willing to face the consequences of my actions, should I get caught. Regardless if what I choose to possess is AAS, crack, marijuana, firearms under the FFL, counterfeit currency, explosives, or biological weapons, I should understand the risks.

Do I believe that the laws against AAS are a good thing? No. However, should I buy or possess them, I am willing to pay the legal price should I get caught. In the end, that is what it comes down to. Personal responsibility. Something that most liberals, like yourself, do not possess. You want to have your cake and eat it too. You want to break the law and then get off without even a slap on the wrist. You don't want to work hard, but you feel you deserve a Mercedes car, a $2 million mansion, and a pocket full of cash.

Since that was my argument I'll address this. The whole purpose of this thread (if there was ever a point to it in the first place) was to point how our government oppresses our civil liberties and freedoms by cracking down on the use and distribution of controlled substances like AAS.

My argument the whole time has been that there is more opportunity for advancement in the US than any other free nation. The operative work is here "free". You hardly have the same freedom of speech and expression and and other civil liberties in third world countries as you do here in the US and other democratic societies. It would be impossible to arrive at some "baseline" to compare our standard of living with underadvanced and primitive societies regardless of the world popuation at large. It's irrelevant.

Take boxing or wrestling for example. Why do think there are different weight classes? Should there be some "baseline" by which to measure the boxers of all weight classes? The same goes for BBing.

I moved to Europe almost 15 years ago from the US (and am still a US citizen). Although the US will ALWAYS occupy a special place in my heart, there's no way I'd go back - at least not these days. I have three friends that live between Newfie and Ontario, each of them swears by their statements, "The Canadian medical system is inundated with idiots going to the hospital for a sniffle, making legit medical cases wait for days to be seen..."

I like your posts, but this one statement I have to comment on. The waiting period in Canada has been blown way out of proportion. Perhaps your THREE friends in Canada each had bad experiences? It happens everywhere.

I am from Canada. I love it here. There will be Canadians that love our healthcare system and those that absolutely despise it. Likewise, there will be Americans who love your healthcare system, while others will criticize it.

If you do not have insurance, you are royally SCREWED. Guess what, even if you do have insurance you are still screwed up the ass. One of my best friend's is from Missouri (among many friends throughout the US). She requires lots of consistent and routine medical attention. She has a great job and good insurance. Even with insurance she can just barely afford to pay all her hospital/doctor bills. Within the last two weeks she went to the ER due to certain ailments. Both times she waited hours on end before being seen. Would you like to know what her bills came out to?

What's the point to all this? The point is, there are pros and cons to every country. Sure there is heavy taxation in Canada, but the US runs on a "pay for every single service" system. Ultimately, are we really all that much different in that respect?
