Where can I continue my education?

I'm a personal trainer and wish to continue to educate myself on training technique and methodology. Does anybody here know of any web sites that would serve this purpose? Any input appreciated. Cheers.

Most of my clients only wish to lose weight and tone muscle. I know how to do this I just wish to be up to speed on all the latest procedures. So, I guess you could say I just do general fitness training. However, I would like to, at least, have a basic knowledge on all different techniques. That's it in a nut shell. I'm willing to learn anything useful.

it doesnt have to be the result that dictates what you study. basically you gotta have them move, gain some muscle, burn some fat right? how about flexibility? how about addressing their weak points? So what could you study to do all that and be different? There isnt too much in the way of cutting edge techniques. But you could brush up on your toolbox of exercises, your pace that you keep with them, look at possible templates of other programs. speed programs, power programs. I'm not sure where your experience level is, so its hard to send you to a PT site and say "have fun". actually the more specific you get in different goals the better, because you can implement some of the things as your client's fitness level increase. check into powerlifting if just for the reinforcement of their core stability. you dont have to use the prescribed rep ranges but the programs are designed for weak points, which as you know, every client has. www.elitefts.com (check the articles, theres a ton!)

www.testosterone.net always has articles with new movements, and interesting rep tempo's and schemes.
Dosent hurt to screw around with it yourself when your at the gym to try and invent new stuff that your clients will find interesting.

I dont know how much you know.
But theres a number of good books on elitefts.com that are definetly worth the read. Anything by vatorisky is a winner, and i just bought the book "streching scientifically". Which is excellent if you have any clients looking to achieve extreme flexibility. Also consider some texts on motor learning, they have one on elitefts, ive never read it though. Also there are some university texts on the subject on amazon. It certainly helps to have an understanding of learning movements. And looks more impressive when you can give your clients a method to learning a movment as opposed to just barking corrections at them.

Getting whatever the equivilent of "certified nutritionist" is in your country would be good. Its a pretty basic cert up here, and is often confused with "registered dietician" which requires a Bsc in nutrition. So it gives you tonnes of credibility too.

Theres my brain dump.
Pick anything thats useful to you.
