either play with the baby or hold the baby. Hold the baby while walking the dog. Scrub the carpet where the dog peed on the carpet, AGAIN. Usually, I love my life, but suffice it to say that I had a rough weekend this weekend. Devin didn't want me to put him down for a second and wouldn't even let me sit down. He wanted me to hold him and stand up all weekend. I'm exhausted and frustrated because I have company coming and cant' clean the house without Devin screaming and cying for me to pick him up. I try to get him to take a nap but if I put him down and don't lie down wiht him, he immediately wakes up and cries. He wants to nap with my boob in his mouth, and if I try to remove it and sneak away, he cries. I feel like a cow these days.

I know EXACTLY how you feel times 4... word of advice? I've never heard of a child that died because a parent put them down in the crib, closed the door and let them cry themselves to sleep. They may howl for up to an hour the first time you do it. Then the second time they will still howl for maybe 30 minutes, if that. By the 3/4th time I can guarantee you that the child will have figured out that no matter how loudly he/she is howling mama ain't listenin' so they may as well just lay their tired little selves down and go off to sleepy land.

The child needs to sleep and mama needs to get shtuff done.

If mama don't start laying down the law now, trust me, this will HYUGELY impact mama and baby in a very very negative way = overtired child that won't get the rest he/she needs and mama overtired and frustrated feeling like a slave to the child.

Put them to bed and close the door. DO NOT GO BACK IN THE ROOM UNTIL THAT CHILD IS DEAD ASLEEP. And once they are safely holding hands with sandman, what would the point be of going back into that room?
