When you train hard do you get more acne??

I'm talking about the natural peeps here.

I noticed that when I hit it hard I get a little acne on the backs of my arms and only there.

I haven't been able to lift in a month and it's all gone. I guess it;s just the natural test levels getting elavated when you regularly lift weights.

Anyone else expereince this??

And dirt, oil, sweat....none of that on your skin for an hour + when you're not training.

I was about to say the same thing...

lol! :FRlol: That was great. Hell if acne is any sign of accomplishment, Im a winner.

It's not just dirt and sweat.

When i start breaking out, although this isn't typical acne, more like red welts, but similar enough, I know I'm pushing my body hard, and I'm heading close to overreaching. It's a hormonal thing.

Just like clock work, when I ramp the volume up the, the spots come out. So now I know how much to push myself. I do enough, but not too much to get the red spots out. On my back, face, and chest etc.

Yes i get them on my shoulders more when i train hard.

I have been prone to get them in weird spots when everything is full on (forearms, neck)

I also eat a lot more when i train hard.....maybe it has something to do with that?

it's the horemones and the oil.....I get them alot when I come off a cycle...

They pretty much go away until I start back up

What's the difference between an enzyme and a hormone?

You don't hear the enzyme! :lmao:

I couldn't help it; it's the physiologist in me. :nerd:

my back gets this real bad when I train harder,I use a back scrub brush and give it hell for 5 minutes in the shower everyday,it helps alot

That was funny pwr_machine lol, I get it when I cycle off (which I plan on not doing anymore lol) tanning or a day at the pool helps me alot within a short timespan.

Glad somebody caught the joke. Let me help everyone else out. You don't hear the "whore moan". :lmao:

Training hard causes you to produce extra Test. That is where the acne comes from.

:lmao:

More likely due to any oil or sweat on your skin that may harbor bacteria, resulting in acne. So pretty much what Spatts said right from the beginning.

I can attest to it being at least partly hormonal for at least part of the folks. :D

I've got hormonal acne that doesn't respond *at all* to traditional treatments such as benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A, antibiotics or Accutane - I've given a few too many derms all my spare change trying to figure this out.

However, the acne does clear up when I'm on the pill, thus when my androgen vs. estrogen balance is in check. When I'm not on the pill, I naturally lean toward androgenicity. And while that is beneficial toward me as far as fat loss is concerned, it sucks for the acne department. ;)

Being off the pill currently - that hormonal factor compounded with heavy lifting - I do break out way more than usual, even though I've been back on the prescription topicals.

Acne has several different causes, so if you're unfortunate enough to suffer from the hormonally-induced variety (which is usually what's behind adult acne - if you're older than 23-24 and tend to break out consistently along the jawline, and if your skin does not respond to traditional treatments, those are telltale signs), then the extra test is certainly a factor. :)

if training hard did cause acne would you stop training hard? I wouldn't.

No, I'm never gonna stop.

It's just strange that the acne(really just small bumps) only show up on the upper backs of my triceps and nowhere else.
