When you guys measure biceps

Do you measure flexed or non flexed?

I was gonna ask the other day about thighs, while we`re at it... Where do you measure thighs? In the center or at the peak?

Also, mid thigh is smaller on me than upper thigh, that sucks, I get a smaller measurement. It`s just a matter of an inch or two up or down and you`ll get a huge difference.

You`re either trying to push my batons or you are f%@#%#ed up! You measure biceps at the peak when flexed. That`s it!.

I was referring to thigh measurement. I`ve heard mid thigh as well but MID THIGH is not the peak for me. Mine is upper thigh.

Damn you all to hell! I`m adding 2 inches to every measurement either way.

No I was serious. I never measured before, I think it was you, posted that thread on how big Bi's need to be for a tall person to look big.

I have 39 inch gorilla arms, and am 6'5ft. Definitely it would have to be in the 20+ range to look really big. 18 just looks average

It was`nt my thread but yes I commented on how they need to be bigger to look big on a tall guy. I`m 6ft 3 and working on it. I`m lucky if I look like I work out...

Anyway, I`m not letting this die. You measure biceps at the peak and flexed. Understood?

How big are your arms Jersey? or How much do you weigh or whatever... Just want an idea. Not being gai.

Just over 18 flexed. But my forearms are too thin. In any case, yeah if the measure is flexed, 18 doesn't look close too big, But I just really started up again with the gym. I was hit riding my bike about a year ago, and it required some back surgery. I'm just now at the point where I can lift without it being an issue or worrying me.

Don't get me wrong, I was never huge, and never will be. But I also need to lose 25 lbs. I'm tall so it isn't that bad on my frame, but enough that it bothers me.

Yes that`s me. My forearms are a strong part, but the lighting makes that pic look better than it should.

I took a few pics BEFORE I started "supplementing" last week to show the doubters that say it was all from supps.
 
Mind if I PM you about the nutrition/supplements? I know it's a pain in the ass to answer questions, but i'll buy you and the wife dinner if you're up for it:)

The best part has been doing squats again (but carefully) I'm starting to see muscles I didn't even know I had:)

I would do mine at midpoint between top of knee-cap and crease on back of thigh

just under 6ft 3 I got sick of saying 6ft 2. or 3/4.. 6ft 3 and I think 230 in that pic. Now I`m 2 weeks into a (first)cycle and I`m 245.
 
I only measure my arms not flex and cold. By cold I mean I put then in the refrigerator 1st. Gotta get the smallest number possible on the tape. I don't want them to seem big. :)

this seems to me like asking, should you measure your dick hard or limp?

I know it sounds counter intuitive, but when I read the thread on "what is big" 18 was thrown out as a number. I really had never bothered to measure before, so I just assumed mine would be considerably smaller. When they weren't, and since no one would look at me and say "he's big", I figured the number might be non flexed, as there is a fair difference between the two.

If its flexed, then the 18 number suggested was just way too small, at least for a tall person with long arms

That was sarcasm. I was joking. I know it's not always easily to tell when someone is being facious when typing on it unless it's indicated. You gotta measure arms flexed and pumped. You learn that from the begining. At least I did.

WTF, they were around 17.5" but I just measured them and they came out barely over 16, flexed. I am 5'9", WTF?

P.S. Who the fuck gives a damn.

Well I agree somewhat but not that extra. We already but extra stress on our hearts with the extra muscle we carry. That much fat certainly ain't helping matters. Still it's 20" and you don't look obese. But with a lower bf % it'd look awesome at say somewhere between 18.5-19.5"
 
For the ? on measureing the thigh, I also measure on my upper thigh. It's the biggest around my upper thigh too. Some of that is just the hamstring making it biggest up top though.

I wonder if other people measure upper thigh and use that measurement? It`s too vague to say mid thigh. lol
 
I really think that almost all those who do give measurements give the largest possible measurement they can get (like with two pair of sweats on, shrinking the tape in the oven, etc) Jk about that stuff but I do think they use the largest measurement regardless.
 
Thigh? Lower. by the knee..27". Upper by the hip 32". Measurew the right side. WTF. Measure the pumped muscle jerk head
 
The bottom line is that you can measure your biceps flexed or relaxed. I'm assuming that you're measuring to track any gains, or possible losses (which would indicate a deficiency in your routine or diet). As long as you're seeing increases when measuring then it's all good.
