When you are driving down the road

SoKlueles

I love Mava
Platinum
and you see a funeral driving by, do you stop and show respect and let them pass you?
or do you just keep driving and not pay them any mind?
I just came across that, me being from TN and all, i stopped to show respect once i figured out what it was, but the van ahead of me kept on truckin

if on my sport bike ill do a few wheelies to take off the edge or just downshift to first and hit it at 18000 rpms so it sounds so fucking loud and piss them off

either or

I stop and let them pass. Arent they allowed to go through red if the procession is half way through the intersection?

yes''

they are escorted by the police most of the time as well

I was on the opposite side of the road down here in NC, and the traffic stopped for the funeral parade on the OTHER side of the road across the median. Never seen it before.

eh, if its more than 2 lane road and the procession is on the other side, I aint stopping

I don't think it's required by law to stop - so no, not stopping....

Unless I'm at a red light & they are passing thru it - then in my state, one is required to stay still to let the procession pass.....

most places i've lived, and i've lived in many places, funeral processions usually have a police escort and yes they are allowed to go through red lights

If I'm in a hurry and need to be somewhere I go. The dead ain't going anywhere, they can wait.

In Michigan they have the right of way and can pass through
red light intersections if they want.

You can not cut between their vehicles or block their way.

it aint about the dead , its about their family.

Yeah, you're right. Just can't be held up sometimes. Especially if you're on your way to work. Boss doesn't want to hear that you're late because you stopped for a funeral procession. Everyone dies, so I don't think they should hold up progress for death.

Okay dad. I can barely drag my ass out of bed in the mornings. First thing I say is, "Damnit God, you let me wake up again!"

I'm not talking about breaking the law. You don't have to stop unless they are coming to a red light, etc.

I hit the snooze button 4 or 5 times and always wake up feeling like I"ve been drugged. It's quite painful until the adrenaline rush kicks in (realizing that I'm gonna be late to work unless I start moving very fast).

thats why i say set like 3 or 4 alarms about 2 minutes apart and across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn them off

In Florida, it is the law that you can't pass a funeral procession.

316.1974 Funeral procession right-of-way and liability.--

3(a) Regardless of any traffic control device or right-of-way provisions prescribed by state or local ordinance, pedestrians and operators of all vehicles, except as stated in paragraph (c), shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle which is part of a funeral procession being led by a funeral escort vehicle or a funeral lead vehicle.

Just keep on driving. They are dead, they won't know

We may have, I dunno. I remember in Orange Park, FL that there was a funeral procession for a high school student killed in a car accident. One of the teenage girls in the procession was distraught and wheeled out of the procession, killing the police officer riding his motorcycle beside her.

So there is actually laws governing riding in a procession as well.

actaully as a mortician I can tell you the ambiquity is dangerous
which we don't mind

i heard it was the law here in MA to not interupt a funeral....they have little unmarked police car escorts and stuff...back in the day whjen my grandma passed away we got cut off my a bread delivery truck i was pissed....therefor that resulted in me not cutting out in front of them..i just stop and watch as the cars go by

the difference and dangerousness occurs from traffic coming in the opposing direction
some brake suddenly and pull off to the side
which hazards the drivers behind them

No I never stop becuase I would be holding up the cars behind me and its illegal to stop on some of the important roads plus most often than not the funeral cars would form a convoy in the slow lane giving everyone a chance to overtake them.
