Hi, stumbled across boards a few days ago and been reading through ever since
Lots of information...and I wanted to make sure I didn't ask a n00b question someone else had asked already!
A few questions:
1. I take a basic multivitamin, minerals, Fishoil, L-Tyrosine, Green Tea extract, ALA, extra C, and Siberian ginseng. With my current focus on weight gain, will taking thermos like GTE and ginseng work against my body trying to put on muscle? I really like the GTE because its such a potent antioxidant, and am loathe to give it up unless necessary
2. Best time to take ALA...and how much? I would figure taking it along with creatine/glutamin mix 30 mins before workout.
3. I normally take glutamine and creatine together in a mix, drinking it while I workout. I'm hearing people saying you should take it before you work out to give adequet time to absorb...or take it aftewards. Which is it?
4. Do creatine and glutamine work together or compete against each other for same receptors.....I'm hearing both things.
5. BCAA's/HMB.....are these really worth it or effective? I've never taken them before....it seems like you could blow all your money on this stuff your whole like and never really know if it works:/
6. Does anyone here actually set the alarm to wake them up in the middle of the night so they can have a protein shake...then go back to bed?
7. I'm consuming about 300 grams of protein a day to reach my target weight of 200 pounds. I usually don't count the calories or carbs. Is this excessive....I hear some people say you should take your weight x 2 for grams of protein....thats just way to much for me!
