When to do Olympic lifts?

Hey guys.

I am planning on incorporating some olympic lifts into my workout routine. However, im not quite sure where to fit them in. I was thinking of adding some low weight/technique hang cleans and power cleans onto my leg workout. Would this be a good idea? If so, should i do them first or perhaps after squats?

Thanks for your time.

Jon

If your using low weight then it wouldn't really matter when you do them. However maxing on olympic lifts is like running sprints with a weighted vest on and this is why I sometimes do them on D.E. days in a westside style routine. If your lifting close to your max I would do them first because I tend to not be as explosive 30 min through my workout.

Olympic lifts should be done at the beginning of the workouts and you can take better profit if you do sets of 3 after that you will loose focus and CNS starts recruiting other non specific muscle groups due to also to fatigue, in order others, after 3 reps you start loosing explosiviness and that's what oly lifts are all about, technique and speed.
