when should someone be ready?

For trying out Westside or any conjugate method of training? I'm on the 5x5 and plan on staying on it for as long as it lasts me, but was wondering what should be some goals to reach before going towards conjugate? Until periodization slows/stops, 2x BW Squat/1.5x BW bench, anytime?
 
I think it is more of a GPP issue than max lift. You have to slowly work up to workload and volume. But I am just learning... I could be wrong...

Try EliteFTS for articles. I know I've seen some stuff on this topic.
