When Should I Start To Cut(before or during cycle)?

Right now I'm 6ft 220lbs around 14%bf. I finished a bulking cycle a couple of months ago and managed to keep 15lbs out of 20lbs. Starting in mid May I'm going to begin an anavar cycle to help me shred up a bit. Since I'm kind of new to the whole "cutting" thing, when would be the best time for me to start cutting calsories and start the intense cardio?? I obviously would like to maintain as much muscle as I can while dropping my bf to around 8%.
 
I don't know if there is a good answer for this. If I were you I would begin cutting now and give yourself more time to get to the goal of 8%. This is probably preferable to trying to go crazy while on cycle to get to your goal. I wouldn't be too concerned with calories yet, but you might want to begin cutting carbs and introducing yourself to more aggressive cardio. When you go on cycle you can begin more aggessive cutting techniques.
 
Every body responds different. during bulking cycle I eat everything. Once its done I like to keep the protein high and eat clean cals with the proper healthy fats. I start heavy cardio only when I have a muscle percerving a/s. Something that doesn't produce much water weight. If I do cardio before, I lose a lot of muscle. My metabolism runs to high.

Everyone is different, but i would cut during, better lean muscle gains, without fat, just got
to make sure ure cals are up high.
 
Youre right everyone is different, my body responds best to light cardio when i first begin dieting, while keeping clean cals high. I only cut cals when i REALLY need to toward the end of my diet. For me cardio isnt as catabolic as lowering cals, especially carbs.-WULF
