When do you workout, Morning or Night?

I workout at night, was just reading the encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding arnold says that morning is the best time to workout.

Now my question is to those who use to workout at nights and started to workout in the AM if you saw or felt anything different?

I now train in the morning and its great but a few years back I would train at night. Things didn't go as well as I would like training at night, it made a mass of my sleep which resulted in me taking a break from training.

Morning RULES. No one can schedule a meeting at 6:00am, no one can call, its just me and the battle. I wish my gym opened at 5:00, that would uber-rule.

CW - you eat anything when you train that early?? Before hand I mean.......just curious as I'm starting 5am workouts tomorrow........

well see Am workouts are great, at night you really can't lift as much cause you are more tired through out the day.i like to workout come afternoon around like 3 or 4 o clock i see to get great gains then. But it may be hard for you guys cause of work.

weekdays- evenings or late afternoon.

weekends- mornings.

Im def more tired in the AM...Ive heard once your used to morning training its better. Personally, Id rather sleep...

But you also have a day's worth of meals to burn up at night that you don't have in the morning. There's no way I could do a full leg routine (for example) at 6am running on one little bowl of oatmeal.

try it on an empty tank....only thing worse than losing your last meal doing heavy squats is dry heavin'.....lol....4 real

Evenings are unpredictable, might have to work late, meet people, get dinner ready. And, most people go in the evenings, socialize and dawdle on my weights. I never learned to share. Eat small beforehand, big after.

Mornings. Strictly for the hardcore :D

I work out at noon, which is morning for me. I am up at 10am, eat as much as I can, then work out an hour later.

No WAY I could workout on an empty stomach.

I would prefer afternoons or early evenings if I could choose for the reasons GT mentioned. But this has been working alright for me once I got used to it.

I've been lifting and doing cardio in the morning for months now on an empty stomach. At first it was a real bitch. It got to the point i was about to throw up or faint cause i had no energy. But after a while the body just adapted to it and now its normal. I just dont have an extra 30 minutes to wait for a pre workout meal to be digested

I train at night. I only have about half my strength in the morning.... it sucks. Plus working out after work helps me to sleep better.

Both. Whatever fits the schedule on my training day, be it at 5 a.m., or like tonight at 8 p.m.. Doesn't seem to matter as long as you do it.

ACTUALLY...late night is 10x worse for me.....I'm in the office all day and the last thing I want to do is train at 8pm......no energy...more of a "no energy" from a mental standpoint, but nonetheless.....loved the 4pm sessions, but tax season kills that.....it's 430am for me, after a week, I'll be money..........worse part about it is come 5pm, feels like you havent lifted..........
