When do you work out and what keeps you motivated

hey all

Was wondering at what time you guys work out and how you stay motivated to go at these times.

Like for example if you go after work at like 6pm do you go with a workout partner (so you have to go)?

I usually workout at 6:30 PM since this is when my buddy who works at the gym gets on his shift.

looking great keeps me motivated and the girls in my life help me to become better.

I used to be a 5:30 gym goer, but my gym got too busy. I'd have to wait 20 minutes to get into a squat rack (waiting for people to finish their curls) or 10 minutes to get a flat bench. I started losing interest so I pushed my gym time back to about 8 PM. Things are great now, the gym is empty (well kinda sorta) no waiting for anything usually.

I started a 5x5 program (just completed week 3), that alone has me pumped to get to the gym every other night.

I get to my gym by each morning by 5:30 a.m. and I just love it. The gym is empty. The people that are there are the same people day in and day out and everyone means business. I have energy to fuel my day, get in about 1,500 calories during a bulk by 10:30 a.m. and everything coasts from there. Highly recommended. Plus it prevents me from waking up late from work and I have 45 minutes of alone time before I have to begin the getting ready for work process.

body transformation is a good one but i want to be able to lift more than everybody in my gym. Not being number one is my burning desire. I'd like to footnote DieselGunz signature for that one..

I workout anywhere from 5:30-8 (at night). My preferred time would be in the afternoon if all I had to do was lift and eat. I like a.m. cardio when I can wake up for it  ...happens sometimes, lol.

Motivation, I'm not sure... it's more of a hobby for me, it's fun, it's like my sanctuary and an escape/release to meditate on my thoughts and slam weights around.

I can't stand workout partners, I've had a few over the years... they never last for one reason or another and I don't like having a set time I have to be there.

The only way a "partner" would workout for me is if he or she did their own thing and we just spotted or provided motivation when one of us was in between sets or taking a break... I don't like talking there much.

workout partners are great if they can lift more than double of everything you can. Thats quite a spectacle.

Since starting working longer and later hours, I have had to change a lot of my training. I used to train at MY gym in a little village but I don’t have electricity there and it is hard to get there at 8:00 at night and back home at a decent hour (although I’m sure I will with a contest coming up).

I normally leave work at about 7 and am at the local gym by 8, finished by 8:30-8:45, quick, intense, to the point.

I train for me, can’t really explain it but it is just something that I have to do. I’m about the only person in the gym who speaks English, so it keeps it pretty simple. At My gym in the village I train all by myself on Sunday afternoons, where nobody else in the village speaks English either (although I can speak a little Greek, so communication with the neighbors isn’t so bad, lol).

Motivation? Hmmm…just something internal.
