WHEN do you EAT?

using the MonStar caps style, hope it wasn't copyright

I've trying to get into 6x a day again, by having a preworkout shake, and splitting lunch into prenoon and postnoon.
Starting tomorrow (today?) I'm going to try
6 - preworkout shake
8 - breakfast
11- prenoon
3- postnoon
7 - dinner
11 - prebed

This way I also schedule shorter spaces between meals in the morning when I'm most active and longer intervals in the evening.

For you 5x / 6x / 7x eaters, when do you schedule your meals? Strictly every 3 hours or do you vary intervals like above?

i go with every 2 -3 hrs,i have made it fit around breaks at work, training etc. what you have posted looks good to me,

I eat every two hours - but I have a pretty flexible schedule as far as work goes....I know that many people don't have this luxury....but you do what you have to do, right?

As a general rule of thumb - keep this in mind - the longer your wait between meals, the more calories you need to consume at each meal. This may seem obvious - but if you aren't careful you run the risk of under-eating. I know I had this problem when I used to go on cutting diets - and I would be paranoid about my portion sizes.....

Mine breaks down like this

6am - eggs and oatmeal OR smoothie w/banana, blueberries, oatmeal, milk, protein powder.

8:30 - peanut butter on whole wheat bread (easy to keep at my desk)

11:30 - chicken breast and spinach salad (I go home for lunch) and some skim milk

2:00 - can of tuna and some almonds (again, easy at desk)

5:00 post workout - whey shake with honey

6:30 - chicken breast/ground sirloin/salmon fillet w/ broccoli, some skim milk and some sugar free jello for desert

9pm - couple of turkey slices with mustard

It varies slightly, depending on my work schedule, but I try to keep it as consistent as possible.

7:30-- coffee w skim milk, 1 equal; egg whites w spinach and 2% cheddah; piece of fruit; water

11ish-- protien bar or an organic trail mix;water;fruit or veggies

2ish-- turkey or chiken breast w whwht pita and bbq sauce; yogurt; water; soymilk, maybe a piece of fruit if I feel like it

5 or 6ish-- shake; fruit;water (usually driving at this point)

last meal-- lean sirloin or chicken;potato (sweet or baked, plain) small green salad or peas; soymilk

that's it. once in a while I will have some decaf flavored tea with honey before bed, or some sugar free hot cocoa, but that is just good old comfort food and my childhood habit of dessert.
Any comments or suggestions on good food in the car besides bars and shakes??

fist of all to diamonds response, how arent shakes counted as meals? i sure think they are.

now i eat every 3 hours usually except i have a five hour break b/c i am in school between one meal.

6:30 - meal 1
10:00 - meal 2 (school lunch period)
2:30 - meal 3 (pre workout)
5:00 - meal 4 (post workout)
6:00 - meal 5
9:00 - meal 6
11:00 - meal 7

thats always what i have been able to follow!

You use a shake to supliment your diet but it still has calories and still takes your body time to digest so yes it does count as a meal. Especially if you are adding carbs or fat to it.

if a shake you consider a supplement not a meal, then what do u consider a piece of chicken, both a shake and chicken are gonnna have around the same amount of protein and calories around, yes chicken is different b/c it is real food, but a shake is still definitelya meal, do u not consider meal replacement shakes meals???where do u come up with some of this stuff.

I think what 110% is saying, and I agree with him is this:

piece of chicken
~ 30 grams protein = meal

shake (all hypothetical)
~ say 50 grams protein, 25 carbs, 3 fat = not a meal?

Something doesn't add up with your idea of a meal.

days i usually never crash at midnight or 1, weekends I sleep 10 hours. I know, i know, rest builds muscle, but i'm used to getting 6 hours now.
