Dont think I've ever had a fever last this long!! Started Wed. late afternoon and still has been kickin my arse!! Sweaten bullets right now at 9:30PM Thur night. Been takin asprin and DayQuil and Nyquil, drinkin lots of liquids and lots of vit C, E, Fish Oil, Ect. Muscles and joints are aching, and prostate feels enlarged.

Back of the Nyquil bottle it says to discontinue use and call a Doctor if fever lasts more than two days. That the general rule of thumb? Opinions wanted!

how high is your fever?

Was 103 when I woke up this morning. Wife called the Doc and he said get my arse in there. After spending most of the morning in there Doc says I've got influenza borderline pneumonia and said if I wasn't physically in the shape I'm in now he'd have me in the hospital for the next week.

Thankfully I'm at home now, still burning up and taking some 90 dollar freakin pills (for just 6 pills)

sounds like they gave you the Z-pack...good luck man, glad to hear you caught it before it got too bad

Z-pack?? Maybe ya know what the Doc gave me they're 750mg Levoflaxacin tablets

no thats not the z-pack...i wqas jusy guessing. Im not an expert on drugs but i believe what your taking is gearded more towards pneumonia, which would make sense in your case...somone else here might be able to help more on that subject

Levofloxacin is an antibiotic, similar to Cipro.

Acute bacterial pneumonia (assuming that was the Docs dx based on what he prescribed) can really knock the shit outa people. Had a kid here a few months back we brought in, was intubated and in ICU within 20 minutes. His onset was 2 days.

Good choice on calling the doc.

Thanks Mike!!

Fevers still been knockin' the snot outta me all last night then off and on today. Dunno if the Levofloaxacin is startin' to work or not but todays the first day I've actually felt like eating.

Doc also had me give a urine sample, for pneumonia I guess. he said he was sending it to a lab, and was a bit worried about blood content in my urine.

Before I realized tomorrow was Sunday I was gonna call the Doc if I still had a fever and ask him how much longer it should last or if I should be worried.

Maybe ya could help me out with that Mike?
