When did your innocence die?

I've been in deep thought today. I got some pretty bad news from my recruiter and I've been wallowing in regret ever since. So tell me and the others of EF, when did your "Innocence" die?

Mine died when I was 14 years of age. :Chef: :tuc:

I hope everything is ok with you..

For me...probably around 23-24 years old.
23-24....Damn. I fucked up pretty early on. I slowed down once I hit 22-23.

No, I rather not. Definitely changed my life. The beginning of a long journey that is finally coming to an end.

Hope things turn around for you. Stay positive. :rose:
Did you lose your virginity on that day? :Chef: :tuc:

It died little by little over the course of a couple years. The two biggest factors were the murders of two people in my life at two different times. Sucked, but I learned a lot.

I came out of a vagina and I've been trying to get back in ever since.

"His head fell off!!! Yeah, he was pretty old."

My innocence is still alive and kicking. I've been hurt, but who hasn't? I've seen things that that would tear your heart out, and make you question everything you've ever believed. Then you see something that reminds you that there is a little bit of light out there if you look for it. Sure it changes you, but I can still find incredible beauty in the simplist things, and to me you have to have some innocence left to be able to do that.

just my .02 :verygood:

1968 was the year that made me cynical. Assassinations of Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy, the Tet Offensive, Chicago, The Pueblo...

My innocence about high powered politics ended during Nov 2000.

Fortunately I recognized the beast quickly and said no before beating ahasty retreat.

Shit I was born cynical. Just ask my parents.

i saw one of my neighbors get murdered by his wife when i was like 6 or 7. i can still remember the smell and seeing the bottoms of his shoes while he lay there. that was 1977, i think. or maybe when i was 24, i got shot and almost paralyzed and was left with a nearly useless arm. and then 3 months later my dad died of cancer, on fathers day. ah, such fond memories.
