even here in the deep south, in what's left of post-K new orleans, the English language is being "ran out of town" by strangers rapidly speaking some fractured form of Spanish. most of the larger department stores have their signs posted in English and Spanish. if you call the utilities companies or your credit card company the pre-recorded greeting is in both languages.
i am NOT against immigration or "diversification" or whatever the politically correct term for it is. but WHY do the long time English speaking citizens of this country have to apapt the language of recent immigrants? shouldn't it be THEY who learn the language and customs of OUR country??
