When a cop pulls you over

...and runs your license, can he tell if you're an illegal immigrant or not? The license is valid as this person was a legal immigrant at one point, but now is not. Can they tell?

Not likely unless INS has some way post 911 to put out a warrant for you when your Visa/G card expires....

But knowing how screwed up the INS is, I really doubt they can
track to that level YET..

Nope, all they check for is if their are any warrents out for you.

No they wont. There are moves to try and intergrate the Police with the INS service but they have been rejected by both the State Goverments and the police force. they feel that the Police departments are alredy streched out to thin as it is, and fear of being deported by a cop may stop illegals from reporting crimes and testifying.
