Hopefully the mods won't take this as being mean but I'll start off by saying in my experience I've seen some things that have made me want to hate african americans, but fortunately I've also met some really cool black people who completely changed my opinion. Unfortunately though as of late I've ran into some not so pleasant aa's.

I think you just answered your own question. Black people are like everybody else, some you can't stand, and others turn out to be your best friend for life.

I've dated some black guys, and have ran across the same kind. There are those that refuse to be seen with white guys, and those that don't give a shit.

There you go!

I've recently become pretty good friends with a couple black guys. They have a LOT of good qualities. Both from England....dunno what to make of that.

I would say that as a group (in the US) black people are woefully underrepresented

Election of public officials = representation. Seeing as how the Democratic party HEAVILY relies on the black (and hispanic) vote to retain power, I'd say they are very adequately represented.

in dire need of more power in order to turn the tide of institutional discrimination and self-inflicted victim-hood that have retarded the progression of the black minority in the US.

Blacks have had equal rights under law longer than I've been alive. Wouldn't giving them more power be, oh, "institutional discrimination?"

It's too cold and I tend to avoid gangs of angry white men with sticks. Having said that, Grant Fuhr wasn't too bad.

:)

LOL, now can you answer a question about swimming?

I used to work with this guy who swore up and down he hated to swim, was afraid of the water. He was not the first black person to admit this.

I had never heard of this "myth" (for lack of a better word) before.

Why would this be true? Sharks?

Equal rights != Equality

If your definition of equality is anything BUT equal rights and opportunities under law, then equality is impossible.

A black person is not a white person. A white person is not an Arab person. A woman is not a man. A homo is not a hetero. NO TWO PEOPLE ARE "EQUAL."

The best, and ideal, that can be achieved in a free society is that no individual can legally be discriminated against because of his race.

Aside from affirmative action (which is PRO-black/hispanic/minority as opposed to ANTI-) does legalized discrimination exist in the U.S.?

Nowhere. Whites, blacks, hispanics, Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Homosexuals, and my big toe ALL have equal rights and opportunities under law.

You want "equality?" Read this.
