so true, cept for the fact that your life becomes the business, like its doing to me right now, but this whole thing is still developing.

well at some point you have to decide what is more important money or time... personally i don't think i can ever go back to 9 to 5 and just head off in traffic and work and the go to power lunches and then head back home... just like any good trained chimp... that's just me though tmany people are happy doing just this or they would change it i guess.

I got to agree with Saint...at some point you have to decide what is more important; Time or Money. This year I have made 20% more than last year; however I have also devoted tons of hours, averaging about 66 hours a week.
In the end which is worth more?!?

Programmer Analyst.. somewhere around 50K.. im 25.

Nerd = 115k

Technically, since I'm switching careers I am hopefully looking at making more cash but I'll probably be back in the office in a couple months.

The trick is to learn to live cheaply. I drive a cargo van, live in an efficiency, feed my dogs food scraps, date women with money, sell shit on Ebay, source juice, watch your bills and I dont need to work more than 2 days a week most of the time. Being a proficient dumpster diver helps, youd be surprised at what kinds of valuable goodies are thrown out everyday.

Nerd. Around $95k.

I've done the 9-5 thing for 7 years now. It really sucks the creative juices right outta ya. Money is good, but the motivaton after awhile just disappears.

I've already set my mind to go into biz for myself soon, work my *ass* off for the next 2 years for it, and hopefully make enough that i can retire after that and never work again in my life.

The other option is just keep working in corporate america, make the same dorky salary, or even less if you go from job to job in the crappy economy, and basically work til i'm a stick in the ground.

never felt i was a chimp, so it's a biz for me. :)

Same here, same here.

Although my business has nothing to do with the nearly 8 years of college I've flushed into various schools. Oh well.
