There have always been rude, mean people on earth. Name a time on earth where people had more human rights, where more countries were democratic, where more people had enough money to buy food, where more people have clean drinking water, etc. than right now.

As for us using natural resources, it will not happen. Have you heard of the cornocopian school of thought? It goes that once a resource becomes scarce the free market makes that resource unaffordable, so people switch to another resource. So we won't run out of anything, we'll just replace it with something else.

Besides, we are becoming more and more efficient. A computer today doing the same level of work as a computer of 1950 is many thousands of times smaller and less energy intensive. In 50 years computers more powerful than all the computers currently on earth will use less energy than a TV remote.

So I'm not worried.
