What's wrong with me?

Shreb one of my lasting memories from childhood was the amount of bullying I suffered. Even to admit that now at 35 yrs old is hurtfull. It's very very hard to beat bullying without knocking the shit out of the bastards.
When I was younger I was probably one ugly little fucker, red hair, freckles, big teeth, Oh and CURLY red hair !. Jeeze I could even convince myself to bully me after reading that. Anyhow I joined the army at age 18 and still it continued, WTF I though, what does it take for these bastards to stop.
I started lifting weights, and grew like a god damn weed. The taunts started to die off a little, but there was always the little prick who chanced his arm. Now 17 years later I'm standing 6'2'' @ 260 lbs and it takes a brave or stupid fucker to try it on now, but guess what, there's always someone waiting for me to make a fuck up, waiting there untill I'm down and kick me in the face.
All I'm trying to say is there's always going to be someone who thinks it's a feather in their cap to kick someone when their down, or look different (red curly hair and big teeth !), or speak different, the list is endless. The same fuckers are the people who'll jump on the 'Nigger', 'Kike', 'Spik' racist band wagon.
I wish I had a cure for bullying, I don't. All I did was roll with the blows. But remember shreb you've friends here who'll listen to you when your down anytime.
AS the old saying about strangers goes. I'll relate it to elitefitness,

"We're not stranger's, only friends who've never met".

Worry about you character not your reputation.

Your reputation is who people think you are.

Your character is who you really.
I could'nt have said it any better. Just be strong hon, you'll be fine!

Remember way back when you first starting working out. Remember, when it was so tough that you had to dig deep inside of yourself and pull something out that you didn't know you had.

I remember that time for me, I was so confident and strong-minded I was oblivious to the outside world and what anyone thought of me. I felt like I really found myself during all of that.

It's time to dig deep inside of yourself and find that once again, Iron Sister!

Keep on, keepin' on!

Thanks for all the great words folks - it really means a lot.

The gym situation has calmed down a little but I was banned from one 24 Hour Fitness for "deadlifting too loud" - so take that for what it's worth. I think I violated the unspoken rule of actually breaking a sweat and not using the gym as a dating facility.

Most of the shitheads that were talking shit on me have either given up or waged a full on war against me. That's why the headphones are on before I even leave the car - if the ignore feature works like a charm on Elite - you should see it at the gym.

I did my first powerlifting meet and won - then again no one else was even near my weight class. Doubt I'll do another since it was all attitude and "where do you get your gear" - even after I make it pretty clear I was natural.

I hope everyone stays safe in the days to come. No matter how dark the coming days may seem, there is a light that will shine for all of us.

With much respect ...

PS Gig 'em Blair!

i dont really know u, i read your posts and thats about it but thank god i started reading this post! first of all u gonna have to get a new gym! i cnat beleave that they banned u!!! for deadlifting!!!

u seem like a kind,warm,self-motivated person(and there arnt to many like that!) u shouldnt worry about all these ass holes!! anytime u have something someone else wants there gonna say u cheated so it makes it ok for them to or just so it brings your level of self worth down there thats persons eyes. FUCK THAT! life is like that, if a black guy drives a benz,u know people are gonna say "ohh he stole it" just to bring the success of that guy lower!!! or if someone gets a 1600 on the SAT test and someone else gets 1700 then that guy is gonna say" ohh he cheated "

dont let these "dream pirites" get to you! u are to strong for them!!

have a nice day!:)

It seems as though people always notice those that are different from themselves. Maybe because this makes a person feel secure in there position in life. People that make comments about the differences in a person's apperance, lifestyle, beliefs, are honestly doing this out of fear, jealousy, or ignorance.

I can imagine how hard this must be for you, but in all honesty, you do not need to justify or prove yourself to these people in anyway. I also have to say that you must have a heart of gold and oozing with patience to let them even mumble the words that they have said to you.

Continue with your training, and with all of the success you have gained from it. All that truly matters in life (my opinion) is happiness. If training makes you happy and makes you feel good about yourself, then by all means you should not quit!! And do not second guess yourself and your accomlishments, because of the mumblings of strangers.

I wish you the best of luck!! Keep your chin up!!

Karma for you!!!!

My GF is the same way, she lifts more and trains more than most of my friends, all natural. Yet, people assume that it's because she is geared, not the amount of time, training, and dedication that she has put into her sport!

Keep smilin'!

I am now down to one gym that I can work out at. I was asked not to return to 24 Hour Fitness due to several complaints from 'gym bunnies' that I harassed them while they were on the treadmill. Yes I did give them evil looks as they strolled on the treadmills - not breaking a sweat, having a conversation about the sale at JC Penny and fighting over who got the better hair cut - but I never threated them with bodily harm.

I have been reduced to training at a gym for old men. Not that there is anything wrong with old men but most of them are 55+ and have more hair coming out of their ears and nose than on their head. 95% are very cool but can't spot me for shit. So that leads to a new issue. The most they 'feel comfortable' spotting me is up to about 600 on the leg press. What happens when I go higher than that? No one that works there can spot me at that weight, they are more concerned with counting the protein bars and playing counter hockey than helping members.

Kneepads was also banned from a gym recently so he's stuck with World's Gym - a 20 minute drive or 24 Hour Fitness.

We are considering renting a garage and throwing some equipment in there to train the way we want to.

Dollface - remember this:

A smart, attractive, fit woman will intimidate 95% of all men. I think it turns on the "let's be an asshole" switch in the brain.
Train for yourself, do not be concerned with what others say or do. If they could have your strength, they would.

Advice on the leg-press. THe one at my gym is crappy and you can only go up to 7 45's on each side, so do single leg presses. THat way the old men will only have to lift half as much weight if you get stuck..

BTW - miss ya on Chat.

damn! 214lbs. 14% bf. Thats very impressive. The guys that make fun of you are probably jealous because they can't obtain that size. Also you should post a pic or email me one so I can see what 214lbs. 14%bf look like because it seems like all the girls in the pittsburgh area are 30%bf or so it seems like it when I go out. I think girls with muscle look good and you should be very proud of your body, besides your doing it for yourself and not the other people at the gym, right. Not to mention alot of girls say the same thing about muscular guys. Also I sent you some good karma for the hard work you must of put in to build such a strong body.
