My wife hates this....it's seldom she is without socks, and or flannel pj's, even in summer. We have three thermostats, so the bedroom is it's own entity. I let her rule the other two. I just can't sleep well unless I'm under all kinds of covers, and I can see my breath..
mom loves it at 60 during the winter. I don't even want to get out of bed in the morning when it's that cold. She doesn't believe in a/c so the summers suck too. Wish I never had to move back in.
67. for every degree you raise the temp in your house, you use 2.5% more fuel then you would have at the lower temp. i'm all about saving a buck or too. also it helps to keep dakotah's nips hard
after a $400 gas bill a couple of years ago, we just use a small heater in the livingroom when we are home and another one in the bedroom (the window is always open to let the cat come and go as she pleases) so sometimes it is colder in here than outside...if we get too cold there is always the wood stove and the fire place (in oregon everyone has at least one)
