whats up with the shoes?

honestly? who knows?

what compels someone to wear scrunch socks?
why make baggy pants out of the american flag?
what do you really keep in a fanny pack?
and is their head/neck THAT big that the collar has to be widened on sweatshirts?

mysteries of the world...

j/k, some bb'ers like those shoes, similar to wrestling shoes. PL'ers wear chucks but for function, gives them a flat sole base to squat from. I guess Otomix are like being barefoot.

nate- you should cut back on beer in the morning..LOL.

I wear otomix for squatting- becuase they are very flat (no arch support) & the closest thing to lifting in bare feet.

I wear wrestling shoes to deadlift in. Very thin soles and some ankle support. As for the bodybuilders wearing them probably becasue Ronnie does.

They're basically saying, "Hey, look at me. I may look big and tough but I enjoy being a little boy toy on the side. I'll be your Smurfette in these kinky blue pumps and you can be Gargamel. Meet me in the showers in 5 minutes, I'll be looking for my soap."

<So crude but I couldn't stop myself - sorry>

Cushion and stability are inversely related. This is why you see wood used on olympic lifting shoes and powerlifters using Chucks. Both want a rock solid foundation.

I hear that. In college we had a long walk through campus to the gym and I'd carry them with me and change into them on the platform or in front of the rack. They look cool when you are moving big weight around skillfully but I couldn't bring myself to wear them outside the gym. I like to think I'm less interested in what others think of me now but I doubt I wouldn't do the same thing today.

I knew before I looked this thread was going to be about Otomix. LOL. Usually the guy in the gym that has them on is too be to be laughing at. I actually thought about getting a pair once. I like to work out with no shoes on if possible.

Bwaahaaaaaahaaa!

like everyone said... it's the solid/flat base... makes it easier to kind of set back and drive through the heels since most shoes (running shoes especially) have an elevated heel.
