What's up with guinea pigs??

I have one and it's huge. When u let it out it does this stupid thing called "popcorning". I jumps straight up and moves around. Kinda looks like it is having a seizure. They are weird animals. I mean you can hold them and all, but if you put anything near their mouth they try to eat it. I mean no matter what it is. So it's like a pet, but then it's still a wild animal. Why are they so different than regular pets which you don't have to worry about biting. Even other rodents.

My 10 yr old Daughter has one named "Squeakers" and she is pretty cool.

We had to go to a new cage with high sides on it because of that flipping action was tossing the bedding across the room.
She loves grapes and when available Watermellon. Comes up to the side of the cage and grabs it out of your hand hard.
If you walk by where she is, and don't go see her she will start Squealing and Squeaking REAL LOUD !
Long hair and now summers here she is shedding like crazy it makes a mess to hold her.
The best thing is when she goes tearing around the house in her clear plastic ball rollie thing. She can haul butt..
