I was playing volleyball last October and I landed wrong after a spike. My foot popped completely off my ankle on the inside and stayed there. So I was on my back, leg straight out in front of me with my foot at a greater than 90 degree angle (sideways) to my ankle.
In between the grunts and yelling I was asking people if they had cameras. I damn well wanted a picture of it!!!! No dice.
At the hospital, the x-ray technician actually got ill looking at it. Then she called in the cleaning lady to look at it.
I spent 6 weeks in a hard cast, 6 weeks in a soft cast and tons of time in physical therapy. Every doctor I talked to said it was about the worst injury you could do because it was all soft tissue damage. No broken bones.
I was out of the gym for almost 5 months. Started back in Feb and I've put on 30 pounds.
