whats the easiest instrument to play?

Rusty trombone

Kazoo, harmonica, rattle, tamborine, djembe.

Guitar is easy-ish to learn to play if you learn by tabs. You'll be able to pick out songs within a day. You're not truly playing (as in reading music, making up your own melodies) but it'll get you by.

I only know how to play guitar and drums, so I'll say guitar. I could teach somebody who has never picked up a guitar in their life to play a three chord progression "song" in 30 minutes.

Now, guitar (and I'm sure any instrument) can be as brutally hard as you want it to. Want to be able to sweep tap-pick 16th notes at 180 bpm? You'll have to practice that every single day for 6 months straight before you can do it, and even then it won't be clean.

"Skin flute"
haha

Ive been playing tin whistle since I was a kid. All part of Irish life. It can make some pretty kick ass music, see here - www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=0JUtg8uL5rY fucking ageless shit.

Ive been teaching for over ten years so if you want to learn super fast and super awesome send me a message.

10,000 hours...what it takes to be an expert at anything...6 months, even if you played a full 8 hours a day, would only get you to 1,440 hours.

but, there's about a thousand songs you can play using a G-D-Em-C chord progression :)
