It acutally stands for Equine, which is means horse, which is what the product was initiallt intended for. For example, Prem-Pro (Female Hormone Replacement product) uses estrogen and equine medroxyprogesterone, which they actually extract from horse urine, or at least the last time I looked at the insert.
