I was 36 through 39 and they were 64 through 66.

I am 39 and my husband is 56. Between the two of us we have four children and 5 grandchildren.

My preference was always for older men.

IMO men begin to come into their own mid 40's. By their 50's they are semi-retired if not completely retired. If they had ex's/children they are long over any issues and the children are grown and only "want dad to be happy with a nice lady". By 60's the type of man that I am attracted to are completely retired and only "piddle" to keep their brains sharp and are fun as shit as they want to enjoy whatever time they have left while they can still enjoy it. These men are also kind, patient, gentle have razor wit and strength of character that is unmatched and that has stood the test of time.... not to mention they are extremely skilled and selfless lovers.
