Cutting corners on quality is commonplace. it's especially noticable with the protein bars -- less noticable in MRP's. Some of you may recall that LaBrada had a chocolate coconut bar that tasted exactly like a MOUNDS bar. Today, the same product tastes like day old dog shit. What happened?
Products need to get attention within the saturated market. Once a clent base is captured, there's a natural lifespan where the product is hot, then it dies down. Some companies decide to cut costs once the initial boon is over and just ride it out. In regard to MetRx, there were all sorts of rumors that the original had more than protein in it. Same thing with Hot Stuff. I'll leave it at that.
