Look for Bittornado it allows you to manually open and close ports from within the program. Also if you don't feel like uploading at max (thus not taking up all your bandwith and killing your download) you can throttle your upload between 3-unlimited. Your download speeds are determined by your uploads. So upload at 3 and be a stingy bastard and you'll get slow download speeds. www.suprnova.org

Ares is really good. Good user interface, very similar feel to kazaa.

I use that for smaller files and songs

For big stuff you can't beat bittorrent
