my doctor said i had severe tendonitis in my wrist... gave me some celebrex and told me not to lift heavy weights for a while... i am not sure what she considers heavy.. so i am conitnuing to work out but it is modified a bit... anything i can take or do to help this damn thing heal?

There's MSM with glucosamine which is normally for joint pain. However, I've talked to people who have found that it helps with tendonitis pain as well.

RICE

rest
ice
compression
elevation

and then glucosomine and all them things.

but rest/time (time off) are the big ones.

LOL
there was a guy on my team in college that would tell us he was "dropping some mad knowledge bombs"
we would then all laugh and point at him until he stopped talking like a douchebag.

Sex! ha, um yeah, mind out of gutter. Anyway, I had it in my elbow and wrist from being a dyke-ass softball pitcher for 12 years and it is deffinitly a bitch. There are special braces that you can wear that just look like a wrap that hold the tendons in place while you work out. Those actually help a lot, as stupid as they look. Besides that, ice/heat as usual.

i like the sex idea the best... what say we try that one out on december 28th through january 2nd?

Don't do shit that hurts it so much.

Reduce your # of sets.

Do more compound movements (although this wouldn't help with the wrist so much)

Stay well-hydrated.

Shoot nubain like there's no tomorrow. :FRlol:

it's not his joins homies, it's his tendons. RICE is a good idea initially, but it can be counter productive since it inhibits blood flow to the area.

Saint, do a search on ART or prolotherapy. both are alternative types of treatment but they focus on the cause of the pain, as oppposed to covering up the pain.

Dont stop doing everything. It is a common mis-conception that you shouldn't do anything while a injury like that heals and that is totaly bullshit.

Most times Tendonitis is mis-diagnosed and it is tendonosis not tendonitis.

Going see a doctor that is into pro active therapy and not one who says ice it and stay off it.

I was diagnosed with Tendonitis in my elbow and was told to lay off. I was off for 2 1/2 months and it was a waste of my time.

Went to a different Dr. and the first thing he did was say lay off the anti inflammitories and lets concentrate on getting strength back in the area. I was back in the gym in 2 weeks using ART Therapy.

Pain and inflammation...something I know a little about:)

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a few tubes of Icy-Hot and a tube of Zostrix-HP as well as a roll-on tube of Absorbine Jr. Pick up some ibuprofen as well.

Put the Zostrix-HP on the inflammed part 3 x per day as it suggests...EVERY day for 2 weeks. Put the Icy-Hot on it before EVERY workout. Take the 600mg ibuprofen when you wake up, before you workout, and before bed...DAILY!!! The Absorbine Jr is just in case you can't stand the heat/pain of the Zostrix...putting it on top of the Zostrix will cool it down a lot!!!

glucosamine/chondroitin is great for the joints, but does nothing from tendonitis from what i have read and personal experience.
if possible, rest is best for it. but i know that usually isn't possible with types like us on this board.

deca can help ease the pain....don't know if you want to take that route
