The site has been slowwwwww and keeps timing me out, can't get on, do get on but very very sloowwwww......

Pinged the site today and got no reply so I was figuring the server was down....

Anyone else been having problems?

Yes. Reminds me of the days when it would take 15 minutes to respond to one post. I get so frustrated with this site sometimes that I will just go surf and come back to it later.

Same here....
slow to unresponsive,
then back to normal

Gonelifting likes when it is slow because usually it takes him at least 15 minutes to think of something halfway clever to type.

that was completely uncalled for. there's a time and a place for talking about Gonelifting like that, and this is not the place for those types of comments.

if you want to start talking about Gonelifting like that, go see the "Gonelifting is Important" thread.

I saw that one. Funny stuff.

Perhaps we should start a picking on Gonelifting forum. Oh my bad, we already have one....it's called Chat & Conversation.
:)

We're looking to go to the v3.0 Gold release, instead of the Release Candidate. Had to add our hacks to it first, of course. I see some ugly SQL, which is bogging down the database every once in a while, that's probably what you're seeing. It clears up, even if I don't poke it, but of course I try to break up the clog when I see it.

Don't bother pinging us 'cause we're eating those at the firewall. It's not network related anyway.

Actually you're just a cheap bastard who wants everything free.

Since it's performed very very well for months and yet you didn't sign up then.

That's why I'm not paying for plat, actually.

It is all Digger's fault.

Most people configure their network servers so they do not respond to pings, for one it's unsafe, for another it is absolutely no indication of anything other than a symptom of another problem.

A server's processor could be getting eaten alive and still reply to a ping quick.

Digger what up with plat chat used to pop up when I logged in not anymore?

yeah, I noticed that yesterday. You and I might have been the only ones to like that. I've seen alot of peeps complain about it popping up.

The developer put a timer on it so it's only supposed to pop up the first time you log on in a day. Some complicated formula. Sounds bogus to me but I'm just shoveling bits into the boiler, what do I know.

Aha, I found that ugly SQL code. It's Rick's signature.

I nevre really mind when the site gets like that because it usually means they're making it better....and the difference is usually grand.

Has anyone ever mentioned to you that you tend to talk with authority on a lot of shit you don't know anything about? I've seen it happen a few times, and I haven't been here that long.

Speaking of that, jackass, I've only been here for about 2 months, and in that time I've seen of what I assume to be various SQL related corruptions/communications issues, causing slowdowns for extended periods of time, including complete site shutdowns more than once.

While I certainly think the site is valuable enough to pay for, I won't until I feel that the site is reliable enough for me to invest my money in. Perhaps you're one of those people who like to throw money away, but I am not.

Well, at elast you can read digger's posts and replay it for us.

You wouldn't know a SQL statement from a press release.

Whoa. Time out. A little basic civility here.

I missed the signups to become a charter member of the Code Fan Club, but you are describing somebody else. Altogether.

As a fan of HP Lovecraft, I still don't understand your gibberish.
