as the Q says...
To do well at the national level how heavy would a small boned guy standing 5`8 1/2" have to weigh. I last competed at 196, was ripped but thinking maybe nearer 210-215 needed to do really well. any other bros got any comments?

Yeah i am aiming for 210 in the next year. off season i need to be around a fairly lean 230. Got up to 222 last time but need more size.

yaeh, I think your right on in your thinking. 215 or so and shredded would be great.

That sounds great, but easily said a bit harder done..................................

MassiveM, bro, slowly build up your weight, fill out the areas that need work, get to 205 and see how is it up there (shredded and dry of course) and take it one day at a time................

Post up some pics bro :)

Bro 210 is good but sometimes people look better when they are smaller and sometimes they look better when they are bigger, height is a factor to consider when determining your weight, but i say it ultimately comes down to the individual.

Exactly....................and bro, you look like you have a pretty good sunburn going...........how did that happen, tanning or what? ;)

lol, no, i dont know what happened, i think its just coz i was flexing. or maybe the light.

it's a Catch 22 deal....The main goal is to retain as much LBM and strip as much fat as possible. Just go by the mirror bro, don't get too hung up on numbers...Sure at the start of diet, take your current weight and figure out what you'll be @around 3-4% bf, subtract another 8-12lbs for water depletion and go from there. Keep in mind, these are just ballpark, you may actually look harder and fuller a few pounds over that "number"..

IIf you got to a lean 230lbs then it seems feesible. I'm just trying to get to 210lbs on my 5'8" frame. I'm still stuck at 202-206.

my wrists are 6 inches and ankles are skinny and my dad is only 145lb, mum 110lb so small boned family.
I think last time at 196 i looked as big as other guys who were 210.
Will just keep pushing for a heavier lean off season weight and go from there.

Cheers all
