What would you do?

It's after 11PM and you have motion dectectors around you house and while half-asleep in bed you notice them going off one by one around the house.

Curious - or just making sure it's a dog or other animal you peak out your wondows looking for someone.

Now tht you've looked you see a shadow of man standing in the corner of your front yard between a heavy large evergreen and a 4 foot fence.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO NEXT?

I'd test out my laser sight for my glock. That'd be a hell of a shot.

I'm with Wodin. I'd already have my Glock in my hand. I'd just be at that little fairy land moment when I wondered when I got to make a big BANG!

Then, if I was feeling particularly civil - I'd dial 911 and tell them there was a guy standing in my yard behind the fence...

...and that he kept muttering something about how he was going to kill a cop tonight.

(It's fun to spice up the police's jobs. :) )

Call the cops #1. #2 (after evaluating the area to see if there's more people) I'd have my wife spotlight the guy with the high-power spot lantern while I rush out and confront the guy, probably with one of my swords and a bat. With the size of my yard and the element of suprise, I'd be on him before he could draw down (worst case scenario).

If I had a big-ass dog, I'd sic the dog on him with all the lights off. Hmmm... I need a dog.

And even then, the guy would have to be dangerous. It could just be some drunk college kid, an old man with alzheimer's, etc...

in that case call the cops and turn on some lights. chances are he's a burglar and most of those types are not looking for any kind of action.

I'd boo him repeatedly and then begin with my barrage of witty insults. "Hey smegma breath, up yours..." I'd say. It would be at that time that the 40 smoking cheerleaders would ruish into my house and have a full-on orgy with me, thus making said intruder feel like quite the buffoon. I'm relatively certain it would play out like that.

I'd freak out...Always a nightmare of mine to look out and see someone staring back in at ya!

Grab my kid, grab my gun, call cops!

aw I was hoping this was really happening and you were going to have a kcikc-ass story to tell velvett!

I knew everything was going to come out fine.

No flame intended, I wouln't wish real danger on you but it would be cool if this really happened and you dispatched the man with vevett-like efficiency.

I'm going to get more coffe.e.

Yes you can shoot someone in your yard. There will be more questions, but you don't have to let them enter your house. The thing is, they better have a weapon on them or a violent history. Even then you could be sued.

Well, it happened to me last night and even though I may be female I do own and do know how to use a pistol - just something I learned and enjoyed. The pistol never made it out from it's safe box and Machine's right you can't just shoot someone in your yard. If they're trying to get into your house physically or in your house yes. (Varies on the state you live in)

It was weird, the lights went on and off and he didn't bolt it was like he was looking for the blind spot in the detector (just my opinion.)

Well, because he didn't bolt he gave me the perfect opportunity to photograph his guilty ass when he trip the light detector for the third time.

Called the police - told them what happened and they came over in about ten minutes.

I handed them a photo (got to love digital cameras and HP printers).

I found out this morning that it was a local guy that just got out of jail for petty theft.

Damn Velvett dont you have a gun ?

I have a Glock 29 - if he were trying to get in (window or door) I would have proceeded differently.

Manny, you must have gotten so excite about capping the guy that you failed read where Velvett (who owes me a karma blast, BTW) stated that she owns a gun and is trained to use it.

Holly shit, you know your stuff, a 10mm ! And your hands can handle a double stack 10mm ? Most women I know can't, they find it too bulky.

I have the G20 and COlt Delta Elite. Too bad most people underestimate this caliber.

Nah, the 29 is a bit smaller than the 20.

Have you seen the Walther P99 replical air gun?

I'd calmly walk out, sneak up on him, then alert the man that I had a gun (if I had one ...) pointed directly at his balls. Then proceed to shoot him in said area if he took as much as a baby step toward me.

Oh, the police would have been called as well.

and thats exactly why I asked if she had a gun cause logic dictates someone would actually go out and blow the fucker.

The 29 is indeed smaller but still is the same width as the 20.

Nope never saw the P99 air gun.

Damn gun salesmen.

:D

Seriously though, I like the fit, especially after I learned to keep my thumb down.

Only in Texas can you legally (at one time at least in the US) protect your property outside your residence with deadly force.

aren't you in NYC ? Damn, mind to share your secret on how to get a CCW there ? Even if it means sucking 1-2 cocks. :D

LOL C-Sharp!

Velvet..glad you kept calm and nothing serious happened. What will you do if there's a next time? Just call the cops so he doesn't get scared away and maybe they catch him? What does the law there say about someone doing this? Is it a trespassing violation or what?

Well now that you know who it is, you can go set his house on fire. It will take his mind off of petty theft, and likely, force him to relocate for some time.

seeing as i have no gun......and a poor quality digi camera

i'd probably call the cops, try and get someone else in the houseto scare him off with a spotlight/torch, while i lie in wait with my stick and kris

OK, that WAS a cool story.

Note to self: when standing in vixi's yard trying to get a peep wear a mask next time.

Note to self: get self a digital camera

Note to self: it may be easier to simply request pictures vie email directly rather than skulk in vixi's back yard and scare her. Not a good impression to make.

For it it would depend if there was my family in my house, or it was just me

You could've called me and I would've came right over and took care of this problem, then I would've drawn you a nice hot bubble bath and the gave you a scented hot oil massage and then we could just spooned while I whispered sweet nothings into your ear!!!:D

This kind of reminds me of a similar incident I had a few years ago. I looked out my window and saw a guy in my alley between the hedges and my fence. I went outside and just as he was coming over the fence put my pistol between his eyes... truthfully not more than a foot from his face. (I wasn't worried about him trying to grab the gun. He needed both hands to hold on to the fence.) I said something to the effect of, "Motherfucker, you come over the fence and I'm leaving your brains in the alley."

That would have been enough to get me to back down and go home.

This guy just held his place... didn't back off at all... and looked at me and said, "Why? You got a girl in there?"

I wish to this day I'd killed that guy. It was a mistake not to.

You have THE COOLEST stories ever.

All's I know...I hope MS. Vel is aorund w/ her digi if someone runs my ass over with a truck!

I would have NEVER thought of grabbing my digi to take his picture! Good call!

Stop before you shot me in A BAD PLACE

How did you sleep after that? Creepy fuckers always seem to come back ...

One time the maintenance guy at my girlfriend's apt. called her. He said that she looked nice that day (he lived directly across in a separate apt.) he said he'd been watching her for awhile. It really creeped her out because he had all the apt. keys, etc. She called me crying and I fucking *flipped*.

I found out the security code to his building and went pounding on his door in the middle of the night -- all of the people in the building came out into the hallway, the guy wouldn't open his door; I went on to tell everybody in the hallway that he tried to rape my gf (which in a way was true) -- I was so fucking mad, I probably would have killed him with my bare hands.

I then went back to her apt. (I had her leave earlier) and called the guy -- I told him never to fuck with her or any of the tenants again or I'd cut his fuckin head off, told him he was a coward and that he's lucky he hid behind the door like a little bitch. We filed a complaint with the apt. office and the guy was fired/expelled immediately. We also had it documented with the police.

I got his mobile phone number too -- I'd call him at random times over the course of the next couple days and tell him he didn't know who I was but I knew who he was and that he'd better watch his fuckin back ...

I guess he never came back now that I think about it.

I'm a pussy cat when you know me so you would know that I would not have heart to torch an innocent house.

I would, however, plaster his photo in my yard on his front door.

Agree 100 percent. Germans are nice too -- and not quite as big.

I miss my rott. I've never bonded with an animal like that before. I was the only person her never bit, and he bit every adult that tried to get friendly with him. He was my buddy :bawling:

Yeah, I miss the german my family had, he used to be my daughter's personal bodyguard -- followed her wherever she crawled, would curl up around her when she napped, etc... He came at me a couple times, but I didn't hold it against him -- I was playing too rough with him; one thing I learned about police-trained dogs, they don't play well and they are definitely alpha.

My parents just got a rotty mix -- very cool dog.

Just keep your eyes open. You really should consider a dog.

Good question.

I really don't know.

A lot of people brought up dogs - my neighbor has 5 rotties.

i read about people who put these nasty ass hawthorn bushes in their yards anywhere near fences and stuff so if anyone has to vault over it fucks them up

if i own a house im sticking them everywhere :D

Yeah, in Ore, a man shot a 17 yr old (shot gun right throught the front door) it was holloween and this kid went to the door to ask for directions and got blown away. the grand jury declined to file charges because the man had his outside lights off which means no tricker treaters and said he was scared because of the kids costume. It turned out that the kid was a japanese exchange student and did'nt know any better
