I was named after a trooper song janine, but not spelt the same. Anyone else named after something or someone? my middle name was after someone.

i was named after Rocky Balboa

My first name is after a great man who many celebrate with or without knowing that they do it. My second name is actually the division between good and bad.

My other 4 names are all a mystery.

My dad

A Native Indian boy asked his father why they have such long names?

The father answers, "Well son whenever an Indian baby is born the father would go outside and names the baby after the first thing he sees...Why do you ask, Two Dogs Fucking?"

I'm named Stephen. What's it mean? I don't give a shit. Pass the crack pipe.....

Some dude named bastard.

That's all I heard when I was growing up ... come here you little bastard.

I was originaly supposed to be named "Ilya", but my grandmother stepped in at the last minute and told them to change it to something better. My great-grandfather was named Alexander..and a few important people are called Alexander, most notably Alexander the Great... so I was named Alexander (now Alex).

-my name sucks, if i meet girls who i know im no tgunna see again, i just make up a standard american name, for example, fred or mark.

it takes me saying my name at least 4 times and spelling it twice after that for people to get it

Actually, it wasn't Ilya...I'm thinkin too American here..it was another kinda wierd Russian name

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck I cant think of it.

YES I just thought of it. "Yura", which in English translates to "Yuri." Too fobby for me...I like Alex just fine.

My name is Matthew, it means "gift from God". My mother had dead ovaries, she was told her whole life that she would never be able to have children. Then one day my parents realized she was pregnant, and whoopah I was born. Two years later she had my brother, then her ovaries shut down again. It seemed like a small miracle when she had me, so Matthew just made sense I guess.

I'm named after a damn bird

They thought I was going to be a boy so they had a boy's name picked out, so they didn't know what to name me, my parents were thinking of names for me in the hospital when my mom looked out the window there was a damn bird sitting on the ledge, and voila.

My middle name is the same as my aunts but when i asked my mom once if i was named after her, she said no
so i dont know
if i ever have another kid, ill name him after his dad

It even gets a little better and more strange.

There used to be a woman who lived in the area named Daisy, she died a few years ago, who claimed to be a psychic. She didn't sell fortunes or anything, truth be told she didn't even do readings until the last 15 years or so of her life after her husband died and she got bored, and even then she never charged for anything. (She also only saw three people a day spending a few hours with each, and was booked for years in advance) Anyway, when she was younger she was a bit of a barfly. Her husband was a tug boat driver so she went out alone alot and was friends with most of the community, including my mom who waitressed at a bar back then before I was born. Back then she didn't do actual readings, she would just occasionally spew out random bits of information or advice about people's futures. People came to take her advice VERY seriously because most of it always came true.

So one night she was closing the bar my mom worked at and Daisy reaches over, grabbing her hand, and tells my mom that she will someday have two sons, and not to worry because they are going to have good lives. My mom just laughed at her and told Daisy that she had dead ovaries and it was impossible. Daisy just smiled and walked away.

Four years later I was born. :)

Makes you think that there is more to this world than we can see or understand sometimes...

You look like a Bolshevik ;) j/k
Lara:qt:
I got that movie on DVD.

While my mother was pregnant with me she watched a lot of Love Boat episodes, so I got named after one of the actors from the show. At least the name was pretty uncommon at the time.

I think my names were chosen just because they liked the sound of it, 'cause I don't have any relatives with similar names.

My older brother was named after my dad. I'm glad he was a brother, 'cause if he'd been an older sister instead, and I had been the first born male, I'd have been Hershel Olis ********* Jr..

I was told by my parents that they picked my name out of a phone book.

This is kinda long...but a friends wife is a counsler at a middle school and had a student with a very unusual name(even for Texas) it was Female(pronounced Fa-Maw-Lee) Garcia...she ask the little girl where the name was from and she said her parents told her that the hospital named her. True story
