Shel Silverstein "Where the Sidewalk Ends", "A Light In the Attic" and any Beatrix Potter story would have me quiet for hours... my mother LOVED those books.
When I was little (4/5) I actually liked to have my mother read me stories from the bible. I had no idea what they meant or what religion was so to me they were just cool stories.
Roald Dahl was great...I remember a great book he wrote called "Boy"..it was more or less an autobio....great childrens book.
I remember when I was real small my Dad reading Dr. Seuss to me..Green Eggs and Ham, and there were others whose names i cant remember....Dr. Seuss was awesome too.
