Can somebody explain what is the 5x5 training program? pleaseeeee
5 sets of 5 reps of the various exercises you would use.
I am going to throw a bit of a spanner into the advice..........
Being that you are so young, I would recommend that you keep the rep ranges a bit higher, so do 3 sets of 10-15 reps of a slightly lighter weight, learn perfect form for all the old school compound exercises
1. Bench press
2. Military press
3. Squats
4. Dead lifts
5. Leg press
6. Bent over rows
There are a lot of young men that train in my gym, and I have trained with quite a few of them, guys bring their sons in.
You are still growing, and you will put on mass just learning how to train properly now. REALLY GOOD FORM is SO important.
You really don't want to injure yourself now. I started training at 16, and I have never had an injury from training as I learned how to train properly.
I think it was a bit easier to leave my ego at the door being a girl.
I would do the exercises I listed (only one for legs though each week), two or three times a week (your arms will get worked with this) for two or three months, consistently, and then try out a new workout routine..............
