If it isn't all that much money then I would personally just forget about it, although I wouldn't think they could go into the package just because it was leaking. If you do go be sure to wait a week or so at least.

Maybe this is incorrect, but I think that they could open it if they suspected something harmful was leaking out of the package. But if the mailman was handling the package I guess he wasnt too worried about it. However, I'm assuming since the package was leaking, that is why you have to pick it up.
Again, I dont know if I am correct, but I have to admit.. I would be a little worried, not that they are going to come and break down your door. you didnt sign for anything and you can say you were not expecting a package.

Man, I wish I could give you some good advice here, but you are just going to either take the loss, or try and pick it up.
If you go to the post office to pick the item up and they say something about it leaking, say "where is the package from" once they tell you, kind of feel them out, because if something is about to happen they will be nervous as well. Then if things look funny just say I don’t know who that is or what it is and say that can’t be mine, I wasnt expecting anything.
Otherwise if everything looks fine get it and ruuuuuunnnnnnnnnn!!!! J/k, just be cool about it and if they say something about it say" My grandmothers special syrup must have broken"

leaking packages can be deemed a risk assesment and you better believe with terrorist threats, that they are going to be more apt to open it.

i would call them and play dumb, they are pretty helpful..... see if something seems fishy if it does, then call the package a loss and hope ur source is good enough to reship since it was his fault.

First why did you have to sign for the pack from your source? I would not use a source that required packs to be signed for, although if you never do have to sign for a pack from him and now you do because of this leaking pack just cut your losses and lay low for awhile. And you can just call the PO and have them redeliver it, look on the slip that they gave you for missing the pack, is the box checked where it says you must be present at time of signature? If that is not signed then call them and tell them you are leaving the card in your mailbox and to redeliver it, something similar happend with me with no leaking though and I told them its not my job to deliver the mail, if it was I would be a mailman. Tell them you have work hours that would make it impossible to pick it up, call them with your number blocked and go from there. If they still wont redeliver it which they almost always will then something is up, and even a pack with 2k of gear in it isnt worth it, BUT remember if you cut your losses it will be delivered to the fake return addy and eventually you will be watched, so lay low and change shipping addys if you cut your losses, but play this one carefully, dont do anything stupid, put the gear second and safety first, if you have a bad feeling while on the phone with the PO just abandon ship and move on.

play dumb... call there from a payphone and ask them if they have a package for u....... ask them if they can redeliver it to your house or if they opened it....play dumb, not nervous but ditzy and dumb, maybe have ur girlfriend call..they are cooperative trust me, i just dealed with someting like this and they will help you out...


if they did open it and saw what was in it.... you should be able to tell by the way the phone call goes....its all about reading tones of voice.... and remeber you dont have to accept a package because it came to you..



btw i would never have my source make me sign for it..also see if your source will reship ... and see where to go from there

i had sent a package out with the wrong zip code on there... thought it was gunna be lost forever and i was gunna be out the product... called them try to trace the package, and they were very helpful.... they didnt know its juice inside.... and in ur case if they do know.... and ur good at picking up on peoples vibes.... ull know IF THEY KNOW...

as i said before... ever since 9/11 they pretty much can get away with anything... have your girlfriend call from a payphone and ask them if they typically open a package if it leaks... have her make up a bullshit story about maple syrup and call a different post office then the one where ur package is at... see what they say...


post office employees are pretty helpful....

go to usps.com track your local post offices, for me there are like 15 in my area... call everyone and have your girlfriend say the bullshit story about maple syruup and see what they say...

i just called him....
hes in chicago so i dont know if there procerures are all the same but, he said they would not check it. if they were concerned they get bomb sniffing dogs or check it to make sure it not hazardous, but they wouldnt check for juice. on that note i would still be very coutious and mybe go with the girlfriend callin thing. regardless id have your shipper resend because either way u lost shit. i have dropped vials on tile floor and they havent broke so wtf,did he pack it in nails.

I agree with this. Bro, if it isn't a lot of money, just right it off as a loss. It isn't worth some legal trouble. But I would have a serious talk with your source about his bad packaging trouble. A refund or re-sending of product is in order if it wasn't a transit problem.

have her ask the question generically...in my case the only info they asked for was my address, no name or nething else... so if they do ask for stuff more personal i would be suspicious....

but its true, whutever is in there is broken so have the seller reship to a friends addy, but make sure its a friend that you can trust and if u really wanna be safe, sumone who you dont contact too often because they can trace it back to you if you have like a hundred phone calls or emails to the person... u see what im getting at?

the people at the post office are pretty chill... say your really busy at work and you can not come pick it up, so ask them if they can just drop it off on your door step...

ive had tshirt sent to my house from overseas registered mail... and i wasnt home when they showed up needing the signature.... they left a form for me to fill out...and if you look on the form it will say " i waive the signature requirement, just leave it dropped off on my door step."
